A round mound of the later Middle Kofun period (late 5th century), preserved in Takaida Yokoana Park. Its horizontal stone chamber can be viewed with replica grave goods; the originals are kept and displayed by the Kashiwara City Historical Museum.
Finds & research
Finds include one deity-human-dragon-tiger mirror, one hinoshi (charcoal-heated clothes iron), three earrings, 322 glass beads, weapons, armour, and horse gear. Connections with continental-derived culture are plausible, but the occupant cannot be assigned definitively to a particular lineage or royal house.
