Official status & archaeological view
Official status
Managed by the IHA as the Higashiyama-Honmachi reference site. The regional table of the 1934 Imperial Mausolea Handbook (Bureau of Imperial Mausolea) lists only its name and location (Honmachi 16-chome) and names no candidate occupant.
Attribution (jitei): the Imperial Household Agency's determination of whose tomb it manages — separate from heritage designation.
Archaeological view
An IHA observation during fence renewal in fiscal 2024 found modern fill and natural ground in the excavated areas and reported no remains or artifacts related to the reference site. Its form, size, date, and burial facility remain unresolved in the public record.
Field notes
