Official status & archaeological view
Official status
Managed by the IHA as the mausoleum of Emperor Suizei, the 2nd emperor; the official form is a round tumulus (enkyu).
Attribution (jitei): the Imperial Household Agency's determination of whose tomb it manages — separate from heritage designation.
Archaeological view
A Nara Prefecture guide describes Tsukayama, now designated as Emperor Suizei’s mausoleum, as a circular mound estimated at roughly 30 m in diameter and says it was designated and improved as the mausoleum in 1878. The figure of about 30 m given above is the estimated mound diameter, not the width of the entire precinct.
