Archaeological view
Archaeologist Hideji Harunari describes the mound at the present Jimmu mausoleum as 33 m in diameter and explains that it was created at the end of the Edo period. The 33 m figure given above describes the present mound, not the size of an ancient mound or the width of the entire precinct.
