Official status & archaeological view
Official status
Managed by the IHA as the mausoleum of Emperor Junnin, the 47th emperor; the official form is a hill-form tumulus.
Attribution (jitei): the Imperial Household Agency's determination of whose tomb it manages — separate from heritage designation.
Archaeological view
The IHA visitor page does not give its archaeological size, construction date, or burial structure. A Minamiawaji City Board of Education survey report notes that the site was designated as Emperor Junnin's mausoleum in 1870, but that other views exist and the identification is uncertain.
