A 168m-long keyhole mound formerly located in Uenoshiba-cho, Nishi-ku, Sakai. Built at the end of the 4th century, it was the fifth-largest mound in the Mozu group. Postwar soil extraction and residential development damaged it; an emergency excavation took place (in 1949 according to the Sakai City Museum guide, or 1950 according to the Kansai University Museum bulletin), and it had disappeared completely by 1985.
Finds & research
The eight clay-covered facilities yielded mirrors, beads, combs, and large quantities of swords, iron arrowheads, armor, tools, and other items.
