An imperial mausoleum at Oharano Minami-Kasugacho, Nishikyo-ku, Kyoto, managed by the IHA as the tomb of Emperor Junna, the 53rd emperor.
Official status & archaeological view
Official status
Managed by the IHA as the mausoleum of Emperor Junna, the 53rd emperor; the official form is a round tumulus (enkyu).
Attribution (jitei): the Imperial Household Agency's determination of whose tomb it manages — separate from heritage designation.
Archaeological view
The IHA visitor page does not give its archaeological size, construction date, or burial structure. A Kyoto City / Kyoto City Archaeological Research Institute walking map of Oharano says the summit of Mt. Oshio is said to be where Emperor Junna's ashes were scattered, and that his mausoleum stands there.
