Official status & archaeological view
Official status
Managed by the IHA as the Shiratori Mausoleum, one of the three Swan Mausolea of Yamato Takeru (Tomita, Gose City); Gose City calls the spot Kotohikinohara.
Attribution (jitei): the Imperial Household Agency's determination of whose tomb it manages — separate from heritage designation.
Archaeological view
Gose City's account presents it as a typical mausoleum with a weak basis for its designation, and a government response to the House of Representatives gives its archaeological name as unknown. According to Kameyama City, the records say that the spirit of Yamato Takeru, who died at Nobono (the Nobono Tomb)↗, flew off as a white bird, alighted at Kotohiki-no-hara, and then came down at Furuichi (the Shiratori Mausoleum in Kawachi, Karusato Otsuka)↗.
Field notes
It is managed by the IHA. Gose City lists no parking or toilet.
