An approximately 85m keyhole mound in Furuichi, Habikino. The IHA designates it as the Furuchi-no-Takaya Mausoleum of Princess Kasuga-no-Yamada, consort of Emperor Ankan. Construction of Takaya Castle greatly altered the mound, leaving a roughly square surviving portion. It is part of the Furuichi Kofun Group.
Finds & research
Excavations in the area recovered cylindrical haniwa dated to the early 6th century. A pictorial-band deity-and-beast mirror, sword fragment, gilt-bronze shoe fragments and amber beads were reportedly found near the mound, but their association with this burial is unconfirmed.
