Managed by the IHA as the Kataoka-Iwatsuki North Mausoleum of Emperor Buretsu, the 25th emperor; the official form is hill-shaped (yamagata).
Attribution (jitei): the Imperial Household Agency's determination of whose tomb it manages — separate from heritage designation.
Archaeological view
An essay by Tsukaguchi Yoshinobu published by Kashiba City says that it is not confirmed to be a kofun and that interpretation as a natural hill is influential among archaeologists.
